“Top 5 Tourist Destinations in the Philippines”


Top 5- Baguio City



·         Baguio City is located in the province of Benguet in Northern Luzon. It is noted as the “Summer Capital” of the Philippines because of its cold weather. It’s always cold in Baguio because it is located on top of the Mountains. Its freezing air sets up a very low temperature. When going up Baguio, it has a high altitude which costs the ringing of the ear. In Baguio, you will get to appreciate true nature. You can smell the leaves and trees. You can identify who is from Baguio and who is from down below. Because the people in Baguio don’t wear shields for the cold. People in Baguio are very nice and hospitable and nature in Baguio is decent. There taxi there is just 30-35php starting rate. You will not need aircon anymore because of the cool breeze outside. As you can see, there is Fog in Baguio! For it is very cold.

   There are many sites to see and visit in Baguio:

1. Burnham Park- you can go there to jog or just by simply walking. You can relax there. Burnham is an oval-shaped park so that a lot of people can go there. In the morning, since Burnham is an open-spaced park; It is very cold and you will need a jacket. They also sell there what you call the “Strawberry Taho”.

2.  Mines view Park- from the Minseview Park. You can see there the views of the old miners in Baguio. You can also Horse-back ride there and take a walk. 




3.  Strawberry Farm- since Baguio is known for its fresh hand-picked strawberries. In strawberry farm you can get fresh strawberries. They will give you a basket and you can pick on your own and then just pay after.

4.  East-Weaving Room- here you will find all the Hand-woven materials they use. Sculptures in which they made. 




5.  Maharlika Mall- instead of simply shopping in “SM Baguio” you can go here in Maharlika Mall where prices are much lower.

Top 4- Alaminos Pangasinan “Hundred Islands”


·         Alaminos is famous for its seafoods such as crabs, shrimps, Bangus, tilapia and more. It is very hot in Alaminos Pangasinan, since temperature there is very humid. 


  Hundred Islands is famous in Alaminos Pangasinan. 




   You need to take a boat  from the shoreline to the island for about 30 minutes only. Then when you're there in the Island already, you are free to swim in the water. But there are Buoys in the shore. Because Hundred Islands is really surrounded by huge bodies of water. So the deep green clear water over the buoys is deep already. Hundred Islands also has white sand. And you can see many small different kinds of sea shells from the water. The most Popular Island in the Hundred Islands is the “Quezon Island”. Quezon Island is the most-developed island among the 124 other islands. You can also try the fun and exciting “Kayak” its 250php per hour. You can use that to tour around in the Hundred Islands. You can also do Snorkeling in Hundred Islands. Just make sure you rent a 100php snorkeling gear for your safety.











Top 3- Bohol


·         In Carmen, Bohol you will experience the most-famous “Chocolate Hills” that are more than 1,268 grass-covered limestone domes. The Chocolate Hills turn into a distinct shade of brown during the dry season. 

Tarsiers are very popular in Bohol. If you haven’t seen a Tarsier yet better go to Bohol. The wildlife sunctuary in Corella is a park in which you will see the Tarsier’s Natural habitat. You do know that Tarsier is one of the smallest primates in the world. It has very big eyes.

For a very nice view, there is Loboc. In the Loboc River, you can enjoy a delicious Filipino buffet and a serenade from the local community. You can eat in the “Floating Restaurant” there in Loboc River. You can experience a zipline in the Loboc Ecotourism Adventure Park and an open air cable car ride. They both give good views of the rivers. 





   You can also go to the Baclayon Church. It was declared a national treauser in 1995.

Top 2-Palawan, Puerto Prinsesa 



·         As we know, Puerto Prinsesa is now one of the “7 Wonders of Nature”. This is known as the last Frontier of the Philippines. Very rich in natural resources. And its underground river is amazing. The color of the water in Palawan is deep blue, Deep Ocean blue. You can tour in the underground River, where the journey through the cave system alone is 24 kilometers long. 




   Puerto Prinsesa has also white sand and they have beautiful beaches, shorelines and the sea. They have many World-Class Resorts there. You can do Island hopping in Palawan, Puerto Prinsesa. In Honda Bays, you can take a boat in nearby islands for lunch picnics, snorkeling and ofcourse your non-stop swimming. 





Top 1- Vigan, Ilocos Sur



·         Vigan is the 5th Class City in the Province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines. It is a world heritage site and that is one of the few Hispanic towns left in the Philippines. Vigan is known for its “Cobblestones” streets and horse-ride kalesas. You can see unique-fine architecture that fuses Philippine and Oriental building design and construction. With some European architecture. Vigan is known for their cultural place and foods that attract tourists. 
   
   Vigans famous “Bagnet”, the Vigan Longganisa is very delicious. Vigan is very rich in history and art. They also have the most-famous “Ilocos Empanada” which has ground pork, egg, cabbage, a little onion and garlic. And the “Royal Bibingka” or which they call the “Rice Cake” with cheese on top.
